Light in Darkness
-Anna W

When I open the
back door,
I can see you.

When I watch a
baseball game,
I can see you.

When my day
has been long,
I can see you.

When I look at
the fireplace,
I can see you.

When I watch
the squirrels,
I can see you.

When there are
tracks in the snow,
I can see you.

I am comforted always,
For I can see you.
So, thank you.

Thank you,

Slugger.

--
My family adopted Slugger in Louisville, KY when I was young.
(note, his name is from the Louisville Slugger baseball bat.)

He was a just a mutt in most people's eyes,
but to me he was my childhood comfort, and a very smart dog.

He was a frisbee dog who never barked or jumped.
He loved people and playing anytime, anywhere.

We had to put him down this year because of a heart problem.
He just wouldn't stop playing until that last day.
That day he could barely move, and just a tail wag was exciting to see.
We knew he had to be relieved of his pain.

I never really noticed how much of a difference he made
in my life, until he was gone.
I still miss him, and I don't think I'll ever stop.
I hope that you can or have all had someone or something like Slugger was to me in your life.

I know that Slugger is still alive to this day, watching me.
I just hope I don't disappoint him.

Love,

Anna Lauren

So, this is an assignment for The Crucible by Arthur Miller.
My group decided to just post on here to talk about it, so don't pay attention to this...

Hey guys! You excited for our...production??

We're starting when Hale comes in--page 36, in my book.,

So the characters needed:
Hale
Parris
Rebecca
Mrs. Putnam
Mr. Putnam
Giles Corey
Proctor
Abigail
Betty
Tibuta

We don't have that many people, but we can most likely double-cast a few--or have Betty be a dummy...
It's a new year of high school!
SOPHOMORES, SOPHOMORES!

haha that's an odd feeling, huh?

So my schedule generally goes as follows...

Spanish 1-
Mrs. Melin (Senora Melin)
So far it's been good; Marshall, Keke, Erik, and Barry are in that class so it's pretty cool to talk to them. It's a relatively boring but demanding class, which is annoying, but whatever.

Algebra 2-
Mr. Linemann
He's just awesome. I think he's a track coach, but that's beside the point.
He's pretty concise (O.O vocab word!) and to the point, which I think I need in math.

Band-
Um...fun, etc. I got 1st chair...(concert) and I want to kill my second chair...

English-
A lot like Smith was last year. I think I like it a little more, though.

Cultural Geography-
Pretty self-explanitory, huh?

Chemistry-
That class should be pretty special--my sister apparently got a 'D' in thatclass...not comforting, huh?

I think this year will be a good year academic-wise. Hopefully that means I can look forward to MB next year!!! <333

Other Random Updates??

-homecoming is next week
-I think I've become an anime/manga freak...
-I miss Slugger, still
-We planted 2 trees in the backyard yesterday!

That's about it for now!
